A lot of people believe that household appliances are a blessing.
Supposedly, they help us take care of the house work in less time, thus
they set us free. They are supposed to enable us to enjoy other aspects
of life, like going shopping of just having a nice cup of coffee,
without worrying about the housework.
However, we got it all
wrong. Household appliances are not here to help us. In fact, things
were so much better when we did not use appliances for our housework.
Let's take the washing machine for example. If you accidentally mix
color clothes with white clothes, you are likely to lose all your white
clothes due to discoloration.
Also, some washing machines ruin
our clothes by tearing them up in the washing process. I am certain that
women who washed their clothes by hand did not have this problem. They
took the time to do things right, and they did it lovingly. As a result
they got immaculate and good as new laundry.
And this can be
reproduced to all other appliances. Whenever you take the time to do
things yourself, you get better results. The work of household
appliances is sloppy, so you might as well not clean at all. Household
appliances are noisy, heavy, and they break down easily.
To make
matters worse, most women who use appliances do not know how to do
things by themselves. So whenever an appliance breaks down or
malfunctions, chaos arises. These people are just not able to do the
housework, and until the appliance is repaired, everything is a mess.
Many
appliances are an accident waiting to happen. If they malfunction they
are likely to explode, and if they do you can get seriously injured. Let
alone that some appliances can cause a fire in the house. So once more,
instead of helping with the housework, an appliance can make things
worse.
Home and technology do not go hand in hand. Any old school
house maker can tell you this. Housework needs to be done patiently and
lovingly to obtain the best results. Let's think about dish washers for
a minute. If you do not rinse the dishes before putting them in the
dish washer, the stains are not removed.
If you think that sloppy
housework is a fair price to pay in order to get more free time, think
again. Some studies have shown that the more appliances a home has, the
more time people spends doing housework. So household appliances don't
save you time, they take it away from you.
It is so much better
to take the time to learn how to do things yourself. In that way you can
decide if you still think that household appliances work for you.
However, if you do not know how to do things by yourself, you just go
about the housework automatically, without even knowing if things are
being done correctly.
